Current Opening: Java Software Engineer

General Description
Responsible for identifying project requirements and development plans, creating technical design for each project based on client specifications and performing applications development and implementation of web based business systems. He/she will also be responsible for product development level testing. He/She will also work with peers to establish work-effort estimates for each portion of a development project.

Candidate must be a US Citizen or Green Card Holder. No H1 Visas.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

• Establish timelines for project milestones.
• Follow industry standard applications development techniques and practices.
• Provide appropriate documentation both in program code and externally.
• Develop web-based applications for new clients using Sun’s Java 2 API
• Maintain existing web-based applications.
• Be able to debug and support applications
• Evaluate new technologies, standards, and software products.
• Work with versioning software such as CVS
• Write build script
• Work within the development team to foster good communication throughout the project life cycle.
• Self Starter, Results oriented and Team player
• Consulting with applications and database tools in the following technologies; Oracle, Java, Enterprise JavaBeans, J2EE components (Java Server Pages, Custom tags, java beans), XML, Object Oriented Programming, Web Development technologies, SQL, Tomcat Apache Web Server, Jakarta Ant (build scripts), Version control tools (CVS, Tortoise), JBoss Application Server, HTML, JavaScript, AJAX.
• Ability to deal with complex situations and collaborate effectively with local and or remote personnel in order to provide fast and effective problem resolutions.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Knowledge of database development concepts required – SQL, schema design, and stored procedures.
• Experience in using iterative and incremental development processes, OO programming techniques in analysis, design and development of such systems
• Strong problem analysis, problem-solving, analytical skills required.
• Good written and verbal communications, as well as good documentation skills required.
Education and Experience:
• US Citizen or Green Card
• Masters degree in Software Engineering/Computer Science
• Programming languages – Core understanding of Java/C++ required
• Object-oriented design or architecture
• Distributed computing applications
• Application integration
• Database programming
